Il progetto riguarda la ristrutturazione integrale dello Skorpion Center, un fitness club storico esistente a Milano in Corso Vittorio Emanuele dagli anni '70. I lavori in oggetto hanno riguardato prevalentemente il terzo piano interrato, relativo alle zone umide del centro: la piscina, le aree termali maschile e femminile e i relativi spogliatoi, che sono stati integralmente rifatti. Il secondo piano interrato ospita invece la zona reception, le sale corsi, il fitness, gli spogliatoi femminili e un’area interamente dedicata ai bambini, con sala ricreazione, giochi e spogliatoi dedicati. I lavori di ristrutturazione si sono concentrati nei mesi di luglio e agosto 2004, mentre il terrazzo solarium ha riaperto al pubblico completamente rinnovato nel giugno 2005. Dal 2007 al 2009 in seguito all'acquisizione di nuovi spazi sono stati ampliati gli spazi sportivi e interamente riprogettati l'ingresso, la reception e la zona bambini. Tutti gli interventi sopra descritti sono stati realizzati al fine di ottimizzare gli spazi destinati alle varie attività dislocate nel centro, di dotare i diversi ambienti dei materiali più adeguati da un punto di vista estetico funzionale, di migliorare il confort attraverso l’utilizzo di finiture naturali, di colori caldi e di illuminazione adatta a sopperire alla mancanza totale della luce naturale. E' stato ottenuto uno spazio con finiture di livello omogeneo ed elevato, dotato di attrezzature ed impianti di qualità, analoghe a quelle dei prestigiosi spazi commerciali presenti nella zona.
The project consisted of the complete restructuring of the Skorpion Center, a historic fitness club located since the 70’s in Corso Vittorio Emanuele in Milan. The work focused mainly on the third basement floor, a humid area with swimming pool, thermal baths for male and female, plus their respective changing rooms. The second basement floor hosted the reception area, the fitness centre, the women changing room and an area dedicated to children, with playroom, games and their own changing area. The restructuring work mainly took place in July and August 2004, whilst the completely renewed solarium terrace re-opened in June 2005. Between 2007 and 2009, following the acquisition of additional space, the sports area was enlarged and the entrance, reception and children’s area redesigned. All of the above works were completed with the aim of optimizing the allocation of space between the various activities of the Center, using for each environment the appropriate materials from both a functional and aesthetic point of view, and improving comfort through the use of natural finishes, warm colours, and lighting that made up for the complete lack of natural light. The end result was a high quality and homogeneous space, fitted out with the best equipment, and in line with the prestigious character of the surrounding commercial area.
